These two figures appeared in a previous post, back when I was just making collages and hadn't started painting again.
So since they were crammed into my collage book, unseen and neglected, I decided to revive them into an acrylic painting.
Acrylic paint and ink on an 8x10 inch board.

reminds me of a line from the bowie song rocknroll suicide. about time takes a cigarette and puts it in ur mouth, ur paintings have a nice surreal quality to them that i like alot.
Beautiful!!! I love your vivid color ... my kind of world.
AND by the way, stay "altered" it brings out the best in all of us ~ me thinks. I loved the quote U left at my place. Wow!
Big smooch & a hug,

I like your colours and flowing backgrounds
I love it! The colours simply spark! And it has a magical feel about it! Wonderful!
So glad you revived these two, they deserved to be seen! Love her blue skin and her outfit ~ she is fascinatingly mysterious.
Beautiful! And you've got something to remember the date 6-6-06!
Your blue ladies and animals are always wonderful no matter how old they may be. Love the revision.
Nice work! Thanks for the comment on my blog. I truly appreciate it, and your work as well!
I love how they stand together as a pair, sharing the same scarf in a magical world. Beautiful colors!
so glad that you did! Beautiful and I love all the details!
your world is a wonderfully colourfilled and exotic place.
Your characters - both humanoid and animal - are always so intriquing! I love that you put these creatures together in such intimate coexistence; even without the multiple planets or moons in the sky, it creates an other worldly feeling. My favorite part of theis painting is the sky (even though I really love the figures). It has a wonderful undulating movement a if it flows arounf the spheres. Your work is always so cool!
Love your characters, and your work, always like dreamscapes that open your eyes to an other world.
What a gorgeous fantasy image. Again, your colors are arresting. You've such a good sense for vibrancy! How do you get the dark sky so smooth at the edges of the foreground figures? I tried watercolor for the first time this past week and had a dark sky like this; however, I couldn't get the color tone even at the edges of the figures in the foreground. Is it brush technique or do you use a mask of some sort?
What a dreamy sky and a dreamy scene. I like the scarves on both figures. The understated cigarette catches my eye... I guess as an ex-smoker who still feels the urge from time to time, even after 24 years.
Thanks for your comments on Blackie's portrait. Sorry you have loud neighbor dogs. I'm afraid Blackie can be loud from time to time. If we're not home by nightfall, the old guy has taken to howling. We don't go out much now. He's now deaf, so he can't hear himself, but he still feels deeply.
I'm so glad you rebirthed your characters! They are exquisite! Love the colors, as usual...and, the scene is so surreal! Beautiful!
Que lindo trabajo... me gusto mucho tu manejo del color... Beautiful colors...
