I painted this more than 15 years ago and my plan for this week's topic was to make something new using the same insect. I haven't finished it yet and it's already Thursday evening, so I'm putting this one up instead. When the new one is finished, I'll replace or add it.

The color is just wonderful. I was also struck with how your style and use of vivid colors has remained constant through the years. I don't think the illustration could be improved; it is already perfection.
At least you posted something, unlike me. Your style has been remarkabley consistent over 15 years. Nice work.
Yes, this shows us that you alrady established your style 15 years ago and you have been honing it ever since! great work then and now!!!
How strange that everyone says your style has remained the same - it looks really different to me!
And its fascinating to see the difference. Thank you.
Don't replace it! Just add the new one. This is so wonderfully green and luminous...it really brings out the delicate structural beauty of the preying mantis.
I love your colours very much - at your other artworks too. Great!
It's great to see your older work juxtaposed with your newer stuff. I see some similarities, some differences. I really like this piece...it has a real 'science fiction' feeling to it. Looking forward to seeing your other insect painting, too!
terrific! its different, but recognisably yours.
You use of colors never ceases to amaze me! I really adore all your work. Such a talent then and now!
beautiful painting!! The use of green and blue is very well done, the way you handle the wings remindered me of Art deco style.
Beautiful blues and greens! Your insect is so wonderfully done.
The wings are gorgeous! Bravo!
Wonderful!
The plants complements the insect amazingly and the colours!
You're inspiring me to use more color!!
